Dr. Gisela Velez is a board certified ophthalmologist and subspecialist in vitreoretinal surgery and inflammatory diseases of the eye. She has special training and interests in medical, laser and surgical treatments of the retina and uveitis. Dr. Velez has authored numerous scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals including research on treatment for ocular inflammatory diseases, intraocular lymphoma and novel drug delivery systems for the eye. Her involvement in research in retinal diseases includes an NIH grant for complications of retinal detachments.
